Catch Lies
Anyong haseo!
I am attending a 3-days course at Buona Vista - investigation interviewing technique. Isn't it really sounds 'unlike' me? investigation? interview people? Yes, my job need me to do that, and I has seen many different kind of faces during the interview, angry, upset, confident, quarrel, messy, crazy, hiding, arguing, fear, playful or cooperative.
It was really interesting to learn how to catch lie. How do you know someone is telling you a lie? We did some case studies and tested on ourselves in the class, it really suprised me. Language is no longer the best way to detect the truth, but, our emotion, body language and microexpression on the face will betray you.
A survey in US showed that 91% of people tell lies EVERYDAY. Those lies are normally white lies, ie. lies with the good intention. For example, instead of ugly you say cute, instead of annoying you say interesting. Having said that, lies is a art, and it is a social technique that we must acquire. The trainer said something that really gave me a blink: if you do not lie, and keep catching people for lieing, you will be alone slowly. In other words, what you have learn in this course, you should practice it in your job, but do not practice on your family, friends and others!
Wah.... I find it very hard to continue in English.
